Building a 1971 429CJ

The owner of this 429 1971 Cobra Jet Mustang had this car fall on his lap at a car show he was attending in Ga. He was sitting in his fold out chair talking to a friend who had his car at the show. While talking a man walked up and was admiring the 71 Mach 1 the two gentleman were sitting behind. The admirer finally walked back to the two and asked questions about the 71 Mach 1. He stated he had one at the house that had been parked since 1981. Something about being a gas hog and he couldn't afford to drive it anymore. So one of the two gentleman said gas hog huh, you must have a 351C 4v engine. The admirer said naw.....naw.....Its got a 429 in it. Gasping for breath he asked ah......who put that in there? The admirer said ain't nobody put it in there, thats the way it came. How do you know thats the way it came...... Because I bought it brand new! Now no longer sitting in the fold out chair, he jumps up and clears his throat while adjusting his new Ford hat. Um....whatcha going to do with this car? I'd like to sell it he said. Why you wanna buy it. Sure was the answer......ah.... how much? Well needless to say the car was bought at a screaming good price. This car was all original, never a repaint, all the pieces were there.
The car made its way to Mustang Central where the ground up restoration took place. The car needed a complete cowl replacement, trunk floor, taillight panel, floor pans, quarter patches, deck lid and hood. The car was very straight no previous accidents, or repairs. the engine had a complete rebuild with updated SCJ pistons and a touch more cam. Also used roller rockers to update the valve train. The car had a std black interior with AM radio no tach, no center gauges. The transmission was an automatic C6. Rear end was a posi 9" N case 31 spine 350 gears. Color is Goldenrod. Also car came with the factory Ram-Air. The magnum 500 wheels were added as the car came with the dog dish caps and trim rings.
