Here is a suggestion for adding that little touch to your Shelby trunk lock assy. Originally the trunk locks had a black boot or cover that made the trunk lock assembly not so obvious. Duplicating that look has been attempted by many different methods. Here is one method that works very well and is fairly easy to do yourself. Needed is black heat shrink tubing in the 1"' size you just need a couple of inches. Pull the heat shrink over your lock bezel and take your time being careful to center the lock so that when the tubing shrinks it will be centered. After fighting with the tubing in your attempt to get it over the assembly you might be tempted to use a larger diameter heat shrink. Fight the erge, the larger heat shrink will not shrink enough to close in around the key hole. If you calculate carefully once the tubing shrinks it will not require any triming on the lock side. If it ends up being to long and cover the key portion of the lock you can trim with an exacto knife. I would advise making several attempts before using the exacto knife to trim with. The finished product looks much better if you don't use the knife. The shrinking process works better with a heat gun, if you do not have one a lighter will work also. You can work the material with your finger tips while its hot and iron it out so to speak on the face of the lock assembly. When your done trim off the material on the back side. Thats it it looks great!!See images below.
